Sorry y'all but it's about time for me to leave this little community and all. It's been definitely something over the past year or so with all of the good and bad but I haven't exactly done anything particular in weeks now so it feels like a good time to head off. This decision is mostly due to the slew of medical issues that have caught my own family off guard as well as school which is starting to ramp up a lot.

The fine folks I run will be leaving Adaptive as well. Louisiana now having known the truth about her father as well as no real fighting occurring in terms of the Gulch territory has renounced her ties to Control in order to focus on family and her own growth as a mercenary. Jersey followed along in her footsteps since partners don't leave each other behind. Accompanied by a few lowers (mostly ones I gave names to) these two are no longer welcome on Adaptive and are going to stick with Maine and Oquirrh in order to support and protect Sigma as he studies on Emerald Cove. So at least one of the nerds will be getting to go home. Still family comes first afterall.

Anyway it was fun while I was here and I'll still be available over on skype and plurk. Áu revoir!

With finals coming up, I've been thinking a lot about time management and goals and the like. I don't have as much time as I'd like to do the things that I love, and really, I'd like to balance my life better so that I have time to explore new stories, new characters, and new ideas.

It's been a year. It's been Real. But it's time for me to move on.

As far as my characters go, Sigma's professor has been working with Louisiana (among others) to get Sigma a fellowship at a prestigious university on Emerald Cove. He's moving there at the end of April to get set up in a place where, hopefully, he can continue his studies safely away from Charon's watch. Maine will be joining them and their found sister, Louisiana, and a few other refugees from Charon, Oquirrh included. It's exciting and terrifying and strange but they're looking forward to their new life.

In the meantime, I'm happy to finish the dinner and anniversary threads, as well as tag Maine helping Wash with his cat. I'll just be really slow.

Blithe here dragging in the merc ~~with the mouth~~ with the change of heart! He's from RVB canon S13E18 (The Great Destroyers), meaning he's still a complete douche trying to murder freelancers along with everyone else. I usually take him from the end of S13 but I'd really love to try him out again from where I first played him.

I hope he fits in here, and I can't wait to throw him at people!

On January 4th, a plastics factory in the city of Gulch will suffer an accident, leading to an explosion. Gas clouds will be dense on this day, and the mixing of chemicals in the air with the pollutants in the explosion will lead to the clouds precipitating into a chemical rain, which will fall and coat everything with a sticky resin. The rain will last for three days, forcing people indoors. The aftermath of the disaster will involve clean-up and repair efforts, including the necessity to deduce a solution to removing the foul residue.

It's election time! That's right, Matthew Michaelis has carried out yet another full term in the position of mayor and it's time for the citizenry of Gulch to vote whether he retains his seat. Natives of the city over the age of 18 are eligible to campaign for the role, and all residents of the city, including new arrivals, will be able to vote.

The IC announcement for the campaign proceedings will go up October 5th.

He's a newcomer to Adaptive, after he was sort of framed for the murder of his parents by a shady company, and has been sent to Gulch by the group that rescued him, to hide out for a while. Of course that means he will probably end up sticking his nose into everything. It's just what he does.

He is a hacker and comms operator, with a knack for guiding people through danger and getting them out the other side. Or for getting them into danger if that's their preference.

Just a simple reminder to our members: when you join a Log or Network post, go into the 'edit tags' function, and add the tag for the character you're joining with. It also helps if you tag relevant characters when you're making a Log that you know certain characters are going to join.

This helps people find relevant posts later, helps us keep things organized, and makes it so we poor mods don't have to go in and tag posts ourselves. Thank you.

Hello players! We would like to congratulate everyone for doing such a good job getting the game going and creating rich lore and relationships between characters. The game is very successful so far and we are excited to begin offering mod plots to jump start more relationships between characters and more events.

The first mod plot will commence on June 15th and will feature a threat from a neighboring city-state. The government of 2AN21BR, or Zanzibar, will accuse Charon corporation of developing a new plague chemical and will claim to be preparing a preemptive drone strike against the city of Gulch to prevent their city from coming under attack. In response, Charon will call upon residents of the city to rally and defend the city against false accusations. Characters will have the opportunity to volunteer to spot incoming drones, or to travel to the city of Zanzibar on a fact-finding mission.

You can plot with other players in the comments below.

All players responded to check-in and no one will be swept from the game.

Up until now, we have been allowing the game to become established. However, it may be time to consider recruiting more players via the community called app-this-plz. Ads go up June 27th, which gives us time to create an ad and compile a list of wanted characters.

Hello! I'm Jaylin and I'm lucky enough to be playing the small, adorable, pink and blue Theta. He's human in this AU and the third youngest member of the Ai family. Cheerful, getting rather good with a skateboard and as adorable as his canon counterpart (though noticeably taller and, y'know, tangible) Theta will hopefully bring some childish playfulness to this world. I'm really looking forward to playing this version of his character, he's always been one of my favorites.

Hey, guys! My name's Hayley and I'll be taking the native version of Agent York for this roleplay.

To be honest, York is pretty similar in terms of personality to the OU York. His backstory is different (not that we know much of it in canon), so obviously there will be difference in his personality to reflect that. The main differences I'm planning are that he's actually competent with locks and that his eye has impacted him more because I feel like he'd make a bit more fuss over it than he did in canon. But other than that, he's much the same dork.
